Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 27-year-old woman who got married a year and a half ago. I have been experiencing difficulties in conceiving. We have never used any barrier methods during intercourse. We have undergone tests such as fallopian tube testing and sperm activity tests, and the results are normal. I recently had hormonal test done, and my menstrual cycle usually begins at the end of the month. The test results showed an LH level of 5.27, an FSH level of 4.74, and a prolactin level of 26.37. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Your first query consult is on us!

I noticed that your serum FSH (Follicle stimulating hormone), LH (Luteinizing hormone), and prolactin levels are within the normal range. It is important to take some healthy precautions and maintain a positive mindset. While you have not provided a detailed history, I have noticed that your BMI (Body Mass Index) is below the normal range. It is advisable to have a healthy diet, maintain an average weight, and aim for a normal BMI, as it can contribute to healthy conception. A low BMI can lead to delayed, irregular, or missed periods. I suggest you take 0.4 mg of folic acid daily. Engaging in recreational activities and quitting recreational drug, as recreational drugs can reduce fertility in both sexes and increase the risk of fetal congenital anomalies. Both of you must seek complete treatment if you have been experiencing health issues or diseases. Try to have intercourse during the fertile period of your cycle.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
