Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My period is delayed. Recently, I developed a yeast infection right before my period. I also had unprotected sex a few days back. Could my period be delayed due to a yeast infection?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query.

Yeast infection can not cause a delay in menses. And since you had unprotected sexual intercourse and also expecting your first menses, I suggest you do a pregnancy test. I suggest you follow the instructions mentioned below.

1. Use Gyno-Daktarin (antifungal) capsule for vaginal insertion.

2. Take a capsule of Co-Amoxiclav (Amoxicillin/Clavulanic acid) twice daily.

3. Take a tablet of Ketoconazole (antifungal) twice daily.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
