Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My mother has been a diabetic patient for the last 20 years, with increased sugar levels, and is under medication. Her fasting blood sugar level is 150 mg/dL. Recently, we got her kidney checkup done, and the creatinine level is 12 mg/dL. She has been on kidney medications for two months. She has been undergoing continuous vomiting for one year and got it diagnosed two months back. She is also a thyroid and blood pressure patient. The doctor has recommended dialysis. However, we want to avoid dialysis and get cured by medicines.
Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Given the situation you mentioned, with a creatinine of 12 mg/dL, your mom will benefit most from dialysis. Unfortunately, the medications used for kidney dysfunction usually do not help stabilize renal function. However, her diabetes does not appear to be controlled either. I am not sure what she is precisely taking for diabetes. However, she needs better control of her blood sugars to avoid other diabetes-related complications.
Kindly revert for further queries.
Thank you.
