Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have had dull abdomen pain in the lower and lateral region for the past ten days. The minor but discomforting pain usually comes and goes mostly after bowel movements. I always have an urge to pass bowel, but there has been no change in my bowel pattern or frequency. I occasionally have burning in the lower and lateral sides of my abdomen and have constant bloating. The sonography test resulted in no internal organ problem. I have been on antibiotics for five days, and there were no results. When the pain is worse, I take Dicyclomine. My naval displacement was checked. Some doctors concluded that there was naval displacement, while others disagreed. I feel tightness and bloating in the large intestine. No medicine has helped resolve the symptoms. Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read the query, and I can understand your concern.

You have the classic features of acute diverticulitis. Please do a contrast abdominal X-ray for confirmation and take the following medicine:

  1. Tablet Metronidazole 400 mg thrice daily after food.

  2. Tablet Erythromycin 500 mg twice daily after food.

  3. Tablet Simeticone 180 mg twice daily after food.

Consult a specialist doctor, talk to them, and then take the medication. If your symptoms persist, do revert.

I hope this will help you.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
