Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I want to give a drug test in my organization as per the rules. I have taken weed (Cannabis or Marijuana) three puffs 40 days back. Will it show up during the test, or does it come negative? Can you please tell me?

Answered by Dr. Arpit Varshney

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have bad news and good news for you. The bad news is that it will show up in the test. The good news is if THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), a product of Marijuana, is positive, it is not considered significant. THC is also present in normal air and can come positive for someone who has not smoked weed. So, in general, positive THC is considered insignificant. However, I would like to warn you that if you have consumed something else, it will show up on the drug test, and it will be considered significant. So you need to decide what you have consumed and whether you should give the test or not. Hope this helps.

Kindly revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.
