Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I need treatment for drool stains on the corner of my mouth. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Use 1 percent Hydrocortisone cream at night (in a very small quantity) for seven days, Tacroz 0.1 percent ointment twice daily during the day for ten days. Do you use cosmetics like lip balm? Is there any history of atopy or allergies? Do you have irritation due to contact allergens like new toothpaste or mouthwash? Do you have exposure to the extreme environment? Do your food allergens like citrus fruits, nuts, pineapple, garlic, etc.? Did you use any topical retinoids? Do you take less water intake or dehydration? Do you have dry lips? Is there any history of cheilitis?

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Is Tacroz and Hydrocortisone cream over the counter? I use chapstick all the time, even before bed. Regarding the history of atopy or allergies, asthma runs in my family, I do get dry skin easily, and my son does have eczema. I use toothpaste and mouth rinse, but no allergies to them. I am indoors a lot for work. No, food allergies like citrus fruits, nuts, pineapple, garlic, etc. Every time I catch up where my urine is clear, I fall behind again on water intake. I have dry lips, and usually, I use chapstick all the time. I do not have a history of cheilitis.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, you can get it OTC (over the counter) too as prescription cannot be given to overseas countries as per rules. Use petrolatum jelly or Vaseline at night for ten days (if dry lips). Drink lots of water, three to four liters on a day. Stay hydrated. Use a mild soap for bath like Dove soap. Moisturize your skin daily. Use Cetaphil moisturizing lotion twice daily in the morning and noon and sunscreen daily at 9 AM, 12, and 3 PM for 20 minutes before going outdoors. Avoid contact with possible irritants or allergens. Follow up after ten days.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
