Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a problem with the elastic in the dura mater covering my brain. The elastic is coiled up very tightly and glued together so that it cannot expand and contract as it normally does. I have been experiencing this problem for the past three years.

Kindly help.

Hello,

I am welcoming you to icliniq with a loving heart and with confidence that I will be able to help you with your medical issues better.

I understand your concern. It, however, needs to be investigated further. You need to test a positron emission tomography scan (PET) scan and a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan of the brain with a special focus on the meninges. After that, you need to get a meningeal biopsy from the exact location. Unfortunately, while your exercise helps you detect it, the surgeons will need to see exactly how it is positioned to get the biopsy. Once we have the biopsy report on the dura mater, further treatment can be initiated. I will also suggest avoiding the exercises. Meanwhile, you need to consult a neurologist for a prescription for Amitryptiline and Prothiaden as this may temporarily help you with the problem till the rest of the investigations can be completed.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
