Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I went to the urgent care around 1 PM today for what I thought was cotton bud from Q-tip in the ear but the doctor said it came out and everything looks fine and that it is a bit red and gave me some antibiotic drops to use but have not picked them up yet from the pharmacy. At 3 PM my ear started to bleed through the canal. Is it a scrape or cut maybe? The doctor said all is fine now. It is still bleeding. What can be done?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. As your ENT doctor had already examined your ear and says no cotton is inside that means only infection is there. I think if blood is coming out from the ear and your hearing is impaired than thorough examination and some necessary investigations are must to diagnose the real fact. Till you are managing to consult an ENT specialist you may take antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, and antihistaminic. Do not try self-cleaning of the ear by yourself otherwise, you may damage ear-drum.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
