How to treat minor decay in the front teeth of a 3-year-old?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My daughter is three years old. She is a sippy cup drinker. She has one cup of milk at night, followed by water the rest of the night. She has minor decay on the front two teeth. What can be done? I do not want those ugly silver caps to be put on her. It is causing her no pain, and she is healthy and not under any medicines.

Please advise.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Since you are taking a lot of care of her teeth, please ensure that she brushes her teeth twice to prevent further decay. As you mentioned, there is not much decay in her front teeth, so you do not need to go for metallic crowns. This decay can be taken care of with just normal tooth-colored fillings. You can visit your dentist to get her fillings done on time to prevent further damage to the teeth.

I hope this helps.

Please let me know if you want some help.

Thank you.
