Hi doctor,
I have had elevated liver enzymes in the last two blood tests that I have undergone. I have been diagnosed with fatty liver and quit drinking alcohol for five days. So I have a few questions,
1. How high would the enzyme levels be to cause hepatitis or cirrhosis?
2. And how long would it take for the enzymes to reduce to normal levels assuming alcohol is no longer consumed?
3. How bad are these values for liver enzymes?
SGOT/AST: 533 Units/L.
GOT/ALT: 338 Units/L.

Now you must quit alcohol, smoking, and drugs completely; otherwise, there will be further liver damage. Hepatitis means inflammation of the liver tissue. When inflammation of the liver cells occurs, enzymes are elevated. And the recovery depends upon many factors, and we can not predict exactly. So I suggest you to follow the instructions mentioned below to improve your overall health and stop further injury to the liver.
1. Eat more boiled vegetables and fruits.
2. Walk briskly for 45 minutes daily.
3. Take capsule Evion (Vitamin E) 200 mg. Take one capsule daily after dinner for 30 days.
