Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
About a month ago, I took a tablet Unwanted 72. I got my periods at the beginning of this month, and the bleeding has not stopped. It is my 12th day. Also, last month I took a tablet Tranostat as I was traveling and wanted to avoid heavy bleeding. Is it normal to bleed for days after taking a tablet Unwanted 72?
Kindly advise.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern and would be happy to help.
As tablet Unwanted 72 (Levonorgestrel) is a hormonal pill, it can lead to irregular menstrual cycles for a month or two. This can be the reason for your prolonged bleeding. I suggest you take tablet Tranexa 500 mg (Tranexamic Acid) thrice daily for three days to control the bleeding. Consult a specialist doctor, talk to him or her, and start the medicine with their consent. If the bleeding does not stop or you experience similar symptoms in the next menstrual cycle, you might need some tests and hormonal medicines to control it.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Is it bad for my health if the excess bleeding does not stop?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Excess bleeding for a long duration can cause anemia that can lead to dizziness, and fatigue. Therefore, further evaluation is recommended if bleeding does not control with medicines.
I hope this helps.
Kindly revert in case of further doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I got tablet Etamsylate instead of tablet Tranexa. Are both the same?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Tranexamic acid is the name of the medicine. It is available in all pharmacies. However, you can also use tablet Etamsylate as well. But, tablet Tranexamic acid is more preferable.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I could not find the tablet Tranexamic acid at my place. I will take tablet Etamsylate, as that is the only option.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
You can take tablet Etamsylate.
I hope this helps.
