Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 44 year old woman. I have a hole in my heart since birth and dextrocardia. I do not want to get pregnant again, as I already have a 19 year old daughter. I cannot take any of the regular contraceptive medicines due to my heart condition. I regularly take Unwanted 72 after an unprotected sexual intercourse. I wanted to know, how often this pill can be taken to avoid pregnancy?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com. Which type of hole do you have in your heart (VSD, ASD or some other form)? How often do you take Unwanted 72?Unwanted 72 (emergency contraceptive pill) is a very high dose hormonal pill and if taken very often could be dangerous. If you still want to use it, please do not take more than one or two pills a month. I would suggest other methods of contraception as follows.Oral contraceptive pills, consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and take the medicines with their consent. IUD (intrauterine device). Male and female condoms.
