Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have swelling in the right scrotum, which was previously treated with medications containing Linezolid and Doxycycline, and it got better two months ago. However, the pain and swelling have returned, along with a fever at night. The scrotum has increased in size and feels warm. Two months ago, there was an abscess discharge, but the scrotum size did not increase in size then. Currently, I am taking a tablet containing a combination of Aceclofenac and Paracetamol for back pain, a tablet of Ibuprofen, a tablet of Calcium Carbonate 500 mg, a tablet of Alfacalcidol 0.25 mg, and Cholecalciferol granules once a week. Previously, for the same complaint, I took Linezolid 500 mg, Doxycycline, Cetirizine, and Mupirocin cream for the incision and drainage procedure. I am experiencing increased lower back pain, making it difficult to stand and walk without discomfort. I am attaching the report for reference. Kindly provide your suggestions.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern. Based on the information you provided and the reports you attached (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity), it appears that you have developed right epididymorchitis this time. Due to the presence of fever along with pain and swelling in the right scrotum, I suggest you get administered intravenous antibiotics. As the risk of sepsis is high, outpatient treatment may not be sufficient. Therefore, I strongly suggest that you get admitted to the hospital under the care of a qualified urologist for proper treatment rather than opting for outpatient treatment. Your condition requires close monitoring and prompt medical attention to ensure a successful recovery. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Thank you for the reply doctor,
After consulting the doctor, he prescribed the following medications:
If the condition does not improve, the doctor suggested that hospital admission might be necessary. Currently, I am experiencing severe groin pain.
I have attached the blood test and urine test reports. Kindly review them and provide your insights.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern. First When I reviewed your report, I suggested admission based on the symptoms and blood test results. Even now, I strongly advise you to get admitted for treatment with intravenous (IV) antibiotics. Oral antibiotics may take longer to take effect, and there is some degree of first-pass metabolism in the liver, which can reduce their effectiveness. For prompt and effective treatment, I suggest you to get admitted and receive the appropriate medical care. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.

Thank you for the reply doctor,
I am currently admitted to the hospital. The urologist has not examined me yet. They have prescribed the following medications:
I am using a scrotal support, which has helped reduce the pain in my scrotum. However, I still experience occasional groin pain. I have noticed mild temperatures on my forehead and chest persistently, and this is affecting my sleep. In addition, I am experiencing severe back pain, for which I am using an lumbo-sacral supportive belt. Kindly provide your opinion.
