Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My friend has epilepsy and takes Dicorate 500 as prescribed by a neurologist six years ago. Before he used to take Encorate Chrno ER 300 twice a day. The last attack of seizure was six years ago, after which he consulted a neurologist and got a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and electroencephalogram (EEG) done. The MRI was normal and he was given Bicovate 500. But after that, he had an episode of seizure while riding a bicycle. Was he given the right medicine? He is 35 years old. The seizure started when he was 22 years, but had no episodes for the last two or three years. His condition was diagnosed as a general tonic-clonic seizure (GTCS).

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query, and understand your concern.

If he is getting seizures with the present drugs, He needs to add one more antiepileptic drug, either Levemex or Clobazam. This medicine can not be prescribed online. He needs to consult a neurosurgeon or neurologist in person and get the medicines prescribed.

I hope I have answered your query. Please revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.
