Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 24 years old, weight 86 kg and height 170 cm. I am facing erectile dysfunction after leaving antidepressants for one month. I do not have erections. The erection is very weak and I cannot sustain it. I went into depression four months back for which I was on antidepressant medication. Since then, I have erectile dysfunction. Earlier, I thought it to be associated with depression but now I am fine and left antidepressants for more than a month. I am still having erectile problems. There is no desire and libido. I do not know if it is a side effect of antidepressants or other problem. Kindly help me with the issue.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have gone through your problem and understand your concern.
Well, it can be side effects of these drugs but it should have subsided by this time. So, you need to get some investigations such as serum prolactin level and serum testosterone leveldone. Depending, upon the result, you need to take further action. Sometimes, this can be managed by Bupropion and Sildenafil, but these are prescription only drugs and to be taken after considering the above-mentioned investigation report.
Regards.
