Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am getting moving light in the corner of my eye and I have floaters. What to do?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query.

These symptoms could indicate the presence of floaters and flashes, which are common signs of an eye condition called vitreous detachment. The vitreous is a clear gel-like substance that fills the inside of your eye. As you age, it can start to shrink and pull away from the retina, causing floaters and flashes.

Floaters are small, shadowy shapes that appear to float in your field of vision. They can look like spots, lines, or cobwebs. Flashes are brief flashes of light that you may see in your peripheral vision. They are caused by the vitreous pulling on the retina.

In most cases, vitreous detachment is not a serious condition and does not require treatment. However, it is essential to have your eyes examined by an eye doctor to rule out other more serious eye conditions such as retinal detachment, which can lead to permanent vision loss if left untreated.

If you are experiencing these symptoms, schedule an appointment with an eye doctor as soon as possible for a thorough eye exam. They can determine if you have vitreous detachment or another eye condition and recommend appropriate treatment options if necessary.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.
