Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am having a pain in my right eye that causes my eyes to excessively shed tears as well as causing a slight pain and discomfort. It started almost three to four days ago. I changed my medical lenses, and I changed the solution. I put them in almost every day. I noticed my symptoms temporarily disappeared the day I wore the new lenses, but they reoccurred the next day. It is worth mentioning that my sleep pattern is slightly disrupted (meaning I sleep three to four hours in the early morning, then again another three to four hours in the afternoon). Also, I spend almost my entire day staring at my laptop screen, as this is one job requirement. By the way, I tried artificial cleansing tears and eyedrops, and they almost had no effect.

To clarify, I am taking hand washing seriously, and I wash my hands with soap before touching my lenses and eyes.

Please advice me about the best solution.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

These symptoms are suggestive of dryness.

You have to select the timing of contact lens wear. Try not to wear them for more than eight to 10 hours. You may use glasses.

Try to discontinue lenses for some time. Try cold compresses and use lubricating eyedrops frequently.

You may use lenses when your eyes are comfortable, but try not to overstress your eyes.

It is a provisional diagnosis. Kindly consult a local ophthalmologist if the problem persists.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
