Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

If I have the power of, say +1.5, and if I were to access a device or screen without my reading glasses, what font size would be the one for me? I am looking for a chart that gives me the optimum font size matched against the reading glass power. By optimum font size, I mean, by which a person can read properly even without glasses. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

There are two ways to see clearly without glasses:

1. By keeping the screen away from the eyes.

2. By increasing the font size.

There is no specific font size that can help you. A large font size will be required if you will keep the screen close to your eyes, while a relatively small font size would be enough if you keep the screen away from your eyes. So we have to adjust both distance and font size. The best way is that you first fix the distance of the screen from the eyes and then keep on increasing the font size till those are clearly seen.

I hope this helps you.

Regards.
