Does a girl have a high chance of conceiving during ovulation and significantly less in the rest of the days?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I wanted to know if any girl had her periods on the 1st or 2nd date of the month and repeated after every 28 days, is there a chance of conceiving only during the ovulation period, which is between the 10th to 18th days of the month, and the rest of the days chance of having pregnant is significantly less or impossible?

Please give me the correct knowledge of what is happening in real life.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The fertile phase is the phase of a female's menstrual cycle when an egg (ovum) is released from the ovaries. In humans, ovulation occurs about midway through the menstrual cycle, after the follicular phase. The few days surrounding ovulation (from approximately days 10 to 18 of a 28-day cycle) constitute the most fertile phase. So if you have ejaculatory sexual intercourse from day10 to 20 of the menstrual cycle, the chances of pregnancy are much higher. Consult your gynecologist for exact information. Take care.
