Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My daughter has cold, runny nose, and a mild fever ranging from 99 to 100.5 Fahrenheit for the past five days. During the first two days, she had a temperature every five to six hours, then on the third day for nine hours, and finally after 11 to 12 hours. Today is the sixth day, and she has had mild fever every 11 to 12 hours for the past two days. We had a blood test. The doctor says it is a viral fever. How long will the fever persist? I am just scared.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome toicliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

She apparently has an infection, and the antibiotic Amoxclav(amoxycillin and clavulanic acid) 228.5 milligrams suspension can be given in a dose of half a teaspoon twice daily for five to seven days. Adding this will help the fever go away.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you, doctor. She took antibiotics recently for a cold that got worse. It was about two weeks ago. Can she take antibiotics within a short period of time again?

Hello,

Welcome back toicliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Yes, as this infection is different from the previous one. Antibiotics work only against infections bacteria and do not affect our bodies, as people wrongly think.

I hope I have answered your question.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My daughter is getting sick often after going to school. If she goes to school for two days, she gets infected and takes leave for four days. To date, half of the days she is at home. Is it normal to get sick every week? What should I do, doctor?

Answered by Dr. Sajeev Kumar

Hello,

Welcome back toicliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Recurrent infections are commonly seen in school-going children, as many other children come with infections and spread bacteria among other children. Personal hygiene is the solution. Syrup Montelukast (microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium, hydroxypropyl cellulose, and magnesium stearate) suspension may provide protection for some children.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
