Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

We are trying for IVF to conceive. We have frozen our embryos and have planned for embryo transfer this month, that is on the 14th day of my wife's menstrual cycle. In the scan, everything looks normal, the endometrial thickness was 9.7 mm and had good blood flow. Today when we went for a follow-up, the doctor told us that the lining has dropped to 7.8 and conceiving would be difficult, so they have canceled the embryo transfer. She informed us that this could be due to the fibroid, which was discovered today. To confirm that, I got a scan done in two different centers, and they also confirmed that she has an intramural fibroid of 0.5 inch. What are the complications that could happen due to this? How to overcome this problem? What are the treatment options? We do not know how the thickness of the lining dropped all of a sudden. She was on Progynova tablet, and the doctor asked us to stop it for the time being. Please help us recover from this. I have attached the reports.

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed both the reports (attachment removed to protect patient identity). The fibroid is small, and it can be controlled by medicines. To reduce the size, apart from medicines, other procedures like radiological embolization or hysteroscopic removal are also available. Depending on the expertise of the doctors, it can be done. Talk to the IVF (in vitro fertilization) specialist about the possibilities.
