Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have severe pricking pain in both my underarms and chest area. Sometimes, pain shoots to both knees. Swollen lymph nodes were seen in the neck region on the CT scan. There is joint pain in the elbows and knees. Pain also radiates from the back to the front of the right breast. What could it be?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern. It seems you have fibromyalgia or nerve pain. I also went through your reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). So I suggest you the following.

1. Take a vitamin D supplement.

2. For the pain, I suggest you take a tablet of Duloxetine (selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor) and a combination of Pregabalin (anticonvulsant) and Nortriptyline (tricyclic antidepressant) for three months.

3. Lymph nodes are not significant.

Kindly consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent. I hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply. What is your opinion on elevated serum protein levels like beta-2 globulin? Can they be related to bone cancer or lymphoma? Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Elevated serum beta-2 globulins are usually seen in plasma cell dyscrasias. However, it is not a prevalent form of cancer. However, I suggest you need not worry. Repeat the test. Take the medicines as prescribed and see if there is any improvement. Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent. I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
