Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 23 years old and my penis is about one inch flaccid and six inches erect. Is this normal? I know they are of different shapes and sizes. But one to six seems like a big difference. And one inch flaccid seems small. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. Based on the image (attachment hidden to protect the identity of the patient) provided I would say it is well within the normal girth size. Six inches is well within the normal size of a grown man’s penis. I would say it is slightly above the average size.

It is more than enough to have good erections and intercourse experiences. To be fair, flaccid penile length is also measured after stretching the penis. The average stretched penile length (non-erect, from the pubic bone to the tip) is between three to five inches. Penile size is affected by many factors like ethnicity, age, build, and the amount of fat in your pubic area.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Regards.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I do understand your concern but five inches is just about average as well. I assure you that nothing is out of the ordinary. The best way to measure the penile length is using a flexible tape or a piece of string with one end going right up to the pubic bone and the other end at the tip.

That will be your actual length. Often men measure the part that they can see from the outside. However, there is a good inch or so buried within the pubic fat.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Regards.
