Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My baby is 27 days old, and she has been passing motions frequently for more than 20 times per day. There was a rash in the area of passing the stools, and it subsided upon applying a cream. The baby cries out in pain whenever she passes urine and motions. I am also facing the same issue and am concerned if it is linked. I have completed taking the dose of Nutrolin B and Zinc dry powder suspension as advised by the doctor, and yet there is no improvement. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Babies pass stool whenever they are fed. But passing 20 stools a day is abnormal. Some babies develop lactose intolerance but it gets over with time. I advise you to follow the below-mentioned instructions.

  1. Continue Nutrolin B (Lactic Acid Bacillus) and Zinc dry powder suspension.
  2. Maintain the hydration of the baby.
  3. Keep the feeding area clean for the baby.
  4. If there is pain passing urine for the mother. then undergo a urine examination to rule out urinary tract infection and take appropriate antibiotics to treat it.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
