Patient's Query

Hi doctor

During my travels, I developed a fungal infection on my scrotum. I utilized Lamisil antifungal cream for eight days, but unfortunately, I ran out. The recommended duration for the treatment was 12 days. I am currently experiencing a gradual return of the itch and burning sensation, although there is not much redness. I am contemplating using a different type of antifungal cream for the next 2 weeks now that I am back home.

Hi,

I am glad you chose icliniq for your medical-related queries.

I understand your concern and will try to help you with it.

I have reviewed your query, and I am sorry to hear about the discomfort you are experiencing. The most effective way to treat a fungal infection is to consistently apply the same cream or ointment for the prescribed duration, which typically yields better results. Lamisil, containing Terbinafine, is known for its effectiveness in treating fungal skin infections. If you are considering switching to another antifungal cream, Candid cream (Clotrimazole and Beclomethasone) is an option. You can apply Candid cream for 2 to 3 weeks, twice a day. If possible, I recommend continuing with Lamisil, as it has proven efficacy. However, if the infection persists, you might need to consider taking oral antifungal medication in addition to applying the cream.

I appreciate your trust in icliniq.com and for giving me the chance to serve you.
