Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a fungal illness in my private area and am 18 years old, but I have not seen a doctor yet. What is the treatment? Kindly help.

Answered by Dr. Suvash Sahu

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Tinea curis is a fungal infection of the groin or private parts. Do not keep the area wet at all. Use Clotrimazole powder frequently to keep it dry. Avoid itching, and do not scratch it. Change the undergarments regularly. Avoid excessive sweating and wet clothes. Do not apply any general or steroid creams. Do not stop the medicine once you cure. Continue treatment for a long time to completely kill the fungal. Check diabetes and thyroid. It is recurrent even after proper treatment. Apply 2% Ketoconazole cream (KZ Cream) twice daily after consulting dermatologist. Please get a review with pictures for better evaluation and further best possible treatment of your concern.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
