I have teeth gaps. Can they be closed by using braces?
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have tooth gaps, and I want to know whether, by using the braces, these gaps can be filled or not. Also, I want to know how long it will take to fill the gaps. Gaps are at the upper front teeth and lower front teeth.
Please guide.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have looked over your question and understand your concern about your spacing. The gaps or spaces can be treated with braces (orthodontic appliances). It will take at least a year. If you have an upper midline diastema (the gap between two upper front teeth), it takes time, and you may need a retainer after the braces are removed for the next six months. You need to consult an orthodontist for fixed orthodontic treatment.
I hope this helps.
Please revert in case of further queries.
Thank you.
