Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am having gradual pain in the middle of my upper abdomen right below the breasts and pain on the side of my abdomen that radiates to my back. This is accompanied by my stomach feeling tight. Sometimes worse after food sometimes worse on empty stomach. Sometimes the pain wakes me up at night. It has been getting worse over the last couple of weeks and more frequent. I have a doctor's appointment next week but I just want to know what to do to help to pain. I feel like I cannot live like this when it hits me. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The pain in the upper middle abdomen is suggestive of gastritis or acute ulcer-like condition. For that Rabeprazole 20 mg, OD for a week can be given. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and start taking the medicines with their consent. In this condition, pain can radiate to the back but still rule out pancreatic cause also by USG (ultrasound sonography) abdomen scan. Avoid excess spicy foods. Take fruit juice more.Consult a physician or gastroenterologist for examination. Thank you and take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
