Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 28-year-old male with 66 kg.
I have had trouble swallowing for a year and a half, which has resulted in me being on a liquid diet. The problem was due to severe reflux. Endoscopy and barium were normal. My issue is I am eating better now, especially with a sip of fluid every bite, but I still cannot eat meat or rice without it feeling stuck. How can I stop this feeling?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
As endoscopy and barium studies are normal, I am assuming you do not have any structural abnormality in the esophagus. The only possibility is you may have functional or morality disorders of the esophagus. Still, I would suggest continuing taking PPIs (proton pump inhibitors), like Omeprazole (I am sure you would be on), taking small bites, I suggest you to use prokinetic medications like Metoclopramide or Domperidone or Itopride, etc., to enhance morality. Start with small chunks of ground meat or rice. I can comment better if I know the endoscopy findings.
Any hiatal hernia they found?
Any gastroesophageal junction disorder?
Or any skin tissue disorders you have, like scleroderma?
Thanks and regards.
