Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I do a lot of binge eating and sometimes cannot sleep because of chest pain. I have chest pain from time to time with throat irritation. It had happened before, and I saw a doctor. He suggested some medicine, and it also worked, but after that, my eating was not perfect for at least a week. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

If you have been experiencing chest pain and throat irritation, along with binge eating and difficulty sleeping, these symptoms could be indicative of several underlying medical conditions, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), anxiety disorders, or cardiovascular issues. GERD is a common condition that can cause symptoms such as chest pain, heartburn, and throat irritation. It occurs when stomach acid flows back into the esophagus, causing inflammation and discomfort. Binge eating can exacerbate these symptoms by increasing the amount of stomach acid produced. Anxiety disorders can also cause chest pain and difficulty sleeping, as well as other symptoms such as excessive worry, restlessness, and muscle tension. These disorders often require a combination of therapy and medication to manage effectively. Cardiovascular issues such as heart disease or angina can also cause chest pain, particularly during physical activity or times of stress. If you are experiencing persistent chest pain or other cardiovascular symptoms, it is essential to seek medical attention immediately. Please provide more detailed information regarding your specific condition, and then I can suggest appropriate lifestyle modifications, medications, or therapies to help manage your symptoms effectively.

I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.

Thank you.
