Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had green and brown poop with blood dripping in the toilet and on the toilet paper after the first wipe. But not on the second. Should I be very concerned? It has been like this for three days.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your case and can well understand your genuine health concern. As you are having bleeding per rectum, you should get evaluated properly. Bleeding in the proximal part of the gastrointestinal tract can cause brown colored stools. There are many causes of rectal bleeding like piles, a fissure in the anus, bleeding in the intestine, rectal ulcer, rectal polyp, etc. I suggest you consult a surgeon. You need proper examination and colonscopy or simoidoscopy.

You can follow the mentioned instructions. Drink plenty of water. Take a diet rich in fibers like vegetables, salads, etc. Avoid oily, fatty and spicy food. You may need a stool routine and occult blood examination.

The Probable causes

Hemorrhoids, rectal polyp or rectal ulcer.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
