Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 37-year-old man who developed gynecomastia eight months ago. After undergoing several tests, including blood tests, a chest X-ray, and a mammogram, it was confirmed that I have bilateral gynecomastia. Most test results appeared normal, except for my low testosterone level of 335. My primary doctor has referred me to an endocrinologist, but the appointment is not there for another six months. In the meantime, I am wondering if there are any interim measures or medications I can consider, given the lengthy wait. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I just read your query and from what you have mentioned it appears that you have gynaecomastia due to hypogonadism and so you need treatment.

Well, there is no harm in waiting for your endocrinologist to examine you and then start treatment since we need to know your other physical findings associated with hypogonadism, he might start testosterone replacement or anti-estrogens for the same depending upon his physical examination.

I hope my advice will be helpful. Feel free to reach out if you have any further queries.

Thank you.
