Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 18 years old. My hair has been continuously falling out, and there are significant gaps between the hairs. Please tell me the treatment for it.

Hi,

We welcome you to icliniq family.

I appreciate the confidence you place in me for your healthcare consultation.

I have seen your query and concern. I would like to explain about hair fall.

  1. It is very normal for 75 to100 hairs to fall out every day. Hair loss should be considered significant only if the number of hair falls exceeds this range.
  2. Procedures like straightening can weaken the hair roots. Conditions such as fever, typhoid, malaria, and thyroid issues can also lead to hair fall, though these are less common.
  3. In most male cases, androgenic alopecia is prevalent. This genetically determined disorder is characterized by the gradual transformation of terminal hairs into indeterminate, and ultimately into vellus hairs.
  4. Considering your condition, you can use a 5 percent Minoxidil lotion with Finasteride. Apply 0.034 ounce (1 ml) locally twice daily. Note that during the first 2 months, you might experience increased hair fall, but do not discontinue the treatment.
  5. Minoxidil is generally safe to use and should be used consistently to achieve continued benefits. You can continue using it for as long as you desire medical treatment for your hair fall.
  6. Along with this, also take vitamin supplements like tablet Xtraglo (containing Biotin, Copper, Iron, Selenium, Zinc, L-Cysteine, L-Lysine, Methionine) once daily for six months. Get a review after one month.

Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take the medicines with their consent.

I hope this has helped you. Please feel free to reach me again, in case of further queries.

Thank you.
