Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 33 years old with a weight of 158 pounds and a height of five feet nine inches. I do not have any other health issues. Sometimes, I become stressed due to COVID as my work gets affected. Stress anxiety causes more hair fall and hair loss. No one in my family has baldness. How to control my hair fall? How can I have regrowth of my hair? I am taking Hairbless tablet once daily. I apply oil to my hair twice a week. A few days back, I did complete blood work and everything was fine. But I had a deficiency of vitamin D. I am taking vitamin D3 tablets once a week. My concern is about my hair loss. Kindly help me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Hair loss can occur due to stress, nutritional deficiency, anemia, thyroid disorder, or genetics. You should eat foods rich in vitamin B7 such as nuts, seeds, green vegetables, eggs, sweet potato, and avocado. Meditation helps in achieving mental peace and reduces anxiety. I suggest you apply Bontress pro (Capixyl, Anagain, and Hexaplant Richter) hair serum twice daily on your hair. Massage it in your hair for a minute. Take capsule Adgain (Biotin, iron, and Calcium D-Pantothenate) once daily after food in the morning. You can use mild shampoo like Dermadew shampoo or Trigaine shampoo. Have a follow-up after a month.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I am attaching my picture of the scalp. I am worried about my hair at this moment. I am going to take the prescribed medications. Does using hard water affect my hair?

Answered by Dr. Shama Naaz

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have gone through the attached image (attachment removed to protect patient identity). You have hair loss in the central part of your scalp. Using hard water can affect your hair. It takes around three months to see visible signs of hair growth. Have a follow-up after a month.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have started taking medicines. I have started using prescribed shampoo and serum. Sometimes, I have difficulty in applying it to my scalp. Can I use coconut hair oil once a week? I started doing yoga to reduce stress. I am using RO water for my hair. Can I use shampoo in my hair once a week?

Answered by Dr. Shama Naaz

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can use coconut oil once a week. Shampoo can be applied two to three times a week. You can do meditation for five to ten minutes in the morning to reduce stress. Eat healthy foods. After using hair serum, you can use Tugain 5% foam (Minoxidil) on the scalp at night time.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

After using serum, I need to use Tugain 5%. How long to be used? No one in my family have these hair issues. Will my hair regrow that is lost due to stress? Will Tugain 5% affect my remaining hair?

Answered by Dr. Shama Naaz

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Minoxidil can be used in hair issues apart from androgenetic alopecia. It is used to enhance hair growth in other body parts. It is a safe and effective therapy for different types of hair disorders. Initial effects of Minoxidil can be seen after eight weeks. Maximum effects can be seen after four months. If you are not comfortable with this medication, then you can use Bontress pro serum twice daily. It shows results slowly.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Will Minoxidil affect my remaining hairs? Someone told me that stopping Minoxidil after using it can cause hair loss again. I have some misconceptions. Kindly suggest.

Answered by Dr. Shama Naaz

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

As you are worried about hair loss, there are many different ways to have hair growth. Hair fall has a transition from reversible to irreversible loss. There are some side effects associated with each medicine we take and it is normal to occur.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Can I use Tugain 5% foam or Bontress pro hair serum? Does Bontress give the same result as Minoxidil?

Answered by Dr. Shama Naaz

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Continue using Bontress pro serum twice daily for a month. If you do not see any improvement, then we can go for other options. Bontress pro is prepared from clover extracts and it takes a time of three months to show good results. It is safe to use.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I will continue doing treatment as suggested. I will come back after a month. Can I use hair serum in the morning and take bath in the afternoon?

Answered by Dr. Shama Naaz

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Ok, fine.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have followed your medicine and serum after consulting you. As you said, it takes two to three months to shows its changes. Do I need to continue now? Do I need to make any changes? I forgot to tell you that I noticed the same thing during the monsoon. During winter, my hair got restored. Is the weather responsible for this issue? I took capsule Adgain plus instead of Adgain.

Answered by Dr. Shama Naaz

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, seasonal variation has some impact on hair growth. During some months, hair loss will be more. Kindly send a clear photograph of your scalp so that I can assist you further. Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
