Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 29 years-old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, and weigh 169.7 pounds. I have a problem with my hair. The top region of my head or crown area has a reduced hair density, and my hair looks unhealthy from above, where the scalp can be seen. Kindly suggest a treatment free of any side effects.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

On average around 75 to 100 hair falls each day are quite common. So, hair loss should only be considered if more than this amount of hair come out. Straightening and other operations also weaken the roots. Other illnesses, such as fever, typhoid, malaria, and thyroid, can also cause hair loss, though they are less prevalent. In your situation, it appears to be androgenic alopecia. It is a hereditary condition characterized by the gradual transformation of terminal hairs into indeterminate and vellus hairs. With your condition, since you already lost lots of hair, I suggest to go for PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy with 5 percent minoxidil in 1 ml of local application twice daily (with this for the initial two months, you may feel an increase in hair fall, but do not discontinue it). Minoxidil is rather safe to use, but it must be used regularly to reap its full benefits.

Also, take vitamin supplements like tablet Xtraglo (multivitamin) once a day for six months.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
