Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 23 years old and have been facing hair fall problems for the past seven months. Before that, I never used to have hair fall. However, when I used an ayurvedic oil, I started having hair fall. Is it because of hormonal changes or health issues? Despite taking a lot of healthy food, I still have hair fall. What should I do to prevent it?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
There are many causes of hair loss. For example, telogen effluvium and stress-induced hair fall settle after three months. It can also occur due to thyroid disorders. You need a detailed evaluation of the cause and pattern of hair loss to make the diagnosis and start appropriate medications. Kindly meet your nearby dermatologist for evaluation and blood test. However, I would like to give you some hair care tips here. Always use lukewarm water for washing your hair. Never use hot water. Do not comb when hair is wet. Do not use a hair dryer. Allow it to dry naturally after the bath. Avoid hot iron straightener because it breaks the protein bond in hair, making hair brittle. Exercise for 40 minutes a day and six days a week to keep the hormonal balance intact. Use a comb with a wide space between each tooth, and the tip of the tooth should be blunt. Avoid smoking because nicotine decreases the blood supply to the hair roots, affecting hair growth.
