Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am witnessing excessive hair loss. I do not have any thyroid issues. In the past two to three months, the hair loss has exponentially multiplied. I do not feel like keeping my hair open as they keep falling everywhere. I am taking Vitamin B12, Vitamin B, and D3 tablets. My Vitamin B12 and D3 were 190 and 21 respectively. Rest all are normal.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Do not worry. I will help you with your concern. I understand that hair fall can be really stressful. Now there are multiple causes of hair fall in females. But the most common causes are female pattern hair loss (FPHL) and telogen effluvium. Now I need to ask you a few questions to make a definitive diagnosis. Do you get your periods regularly? As underlying cause of hair loss could be hormonal imbalance. Do you have anemia? Did you fall sick in the last four to five months? Now as you already mentioned, you do not have thyroid disorder so that is good. Also, vitamin D3 deficiency and Vitamin B12 deficiency definitely contribute to hair loss, so it is good that your on these supplements. As you mentioned you were taking Follihair and applying Mintop, these are good medicines for hair fall but these needs to be continued for a long time. Now, if you are not satisfied with this, I can prescribe you on other medicines for hair fall that will provide you satisfactory results. Treatment needs to be started for a long term to control hair fall and promote hair growth. Kindly help me with these answers.
