Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 27-year-old, newly married. For the last six months, I had four blood tests. All of them indicate I have Hashimoto's disease. I do not know anything about its complexity. But I think some of my recent issues are connected to it. I get burning feet every night. I am always so tired and get brain fog. My body aches frequently. I end up taking painkillers to reduce the pain. I do not know what I am supposed to do. Kindly suggest.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I just read your query and from what you have attached (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity) it appears that you have Hashimotos but not yet a thyroid gland dysfunction. It simply means that you have the antibodies present and they can attack your thyroid gland when you are under stress or sickness. When that happens you will know by thyroid test results, therefore it is better for you to regularly check your thyroid function tests every three to six months. I have also noticed that you have polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) from the picture from the other hormones that you have done but obviously, it has been clinically co-related. I am sorry for your symptoms however regular exercise, diet, and staying in good physical health will help you. Do not forget the benefits of a well-balanced diet and good sleep. Your thyroid condition does not need any treatment at the moment however, you must follow up with a gynecologist for a checkup for PCOS just to rule it out clinically. I hope you feel better soon.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for explaining so clearly. I have already gone to a gynecologist. She confirmed that I have PCOS. She gave me some birth pills. But I want to have natural menstruation. She could not give me any advice for that.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
You need to follow her advice. Try Metformin 500 mg thrice daily for PCOS-induced insulin resistance prevention.
Thank you.
