Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 45 years old. I have a severe burning sensation on the vertex of the head for a year. My head has a prickling-like needle sensation while having this burning sensation. I also have tears coming from my left eyes. My head becomes hot and it becomes worse when I sleep in the afternoon. I am unable to manage it. It comes every day and I have this problem for an hour. I do not know the reason for having this symptom. Please suggest a treatment option to get cured of this problem. I have hypertension for three years. I got it after doing hysterectomy surgery. This burning sensation becomes worse when I eat cold foods. Please help me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. First, it is important to keep your blood pressure under control. This burning sensation and heating up of the head can occur due to hormonal imbalance that occurs after hysterectomy surgery. Your gynecologist should prescribed you some hormonal tablets after surgery and I am assuming that you have not consumed the hormonal medicines. This is the reason for having these symptoms. It is also called hot flashes. I suggest you consult the gynecologist who performed this surgery. The doctor can give you estrogen tablets.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
