Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

In the past, I had experiencing major headaches, irritability, oversleepiness, and anti-social behavior, especially during stressful times. After a period, I felt normal again. I completed a diploma in auditing, but I faced difficulties with a government job contract due to the recurrence of my condition, which has since then persisted.

Recently, I have been overeating and have become a chain smoker. I find myself walking long distances alone, even at night. I have not sought any medical care, relying only on traditional healers, but without success. My family is concerned about my behavior, as I tend to shout at them when I do not get what I want.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

While your description suggests that bipolar disorder could be a possibility, it is essential to remember that a proper diagnosis requires a detailed evaluation by a psychiatrist. I encourage you to consult a psychiatrist in person to receive an accurate diagnosis and personalized medical advice.

Treatment for bipolar disorder typically involves a combination of medications and psychotherapy. Alongside professional care, some lifestyle adjustments may also be beneficial:

  1. Follow a routine and exercise regularly.

  2. Maintain a balanced diet rich in antioxidants and omega fatty acids.

  3. Allocate time for your hobbies and interests daily.

  4. Prioritize good quality sleep and practice good sleep hygiene.

Remember every problem has a solution. You just need to try solving it and help is just a step away.

Feel free to ask if you have any further queries.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
