Hi doctor,

I am suffering from pain in my neck and shoulder on my left side. I had an injury over a year ago, that has resulted in persistent, worsening pain. I have cluster headaches, a backache that radiates when I look down, trouble falling asleep, and frequent numbness in my left hand. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your blood report (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). Cholesterol levels and erythrocyte sedimentation rate levels are high. High cholesterol levels can cause headache and sometimes neck pain. Raised erythrocyte sedimentation rate seems like to be an infection some where, which could be sub-clinical or any type of physical stress on the body. Also I could not find out your vitamin reports. I would suggest that it would be better if we could discuss your problem on phone, so that I could get a proper history from you. Meanwhile, I would like to suggest you take the tablet of Atorvastatin 10 milligrams once daily for one month. Use soft cervical collar. Take a steam inhalation one or two times daily. Try to gargle warm salt water eight to ten times daily. Also try to choose a stress free regular lifestyle. Maintain regular eating habits and adequate hydration. Please follow up for further assistances.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to iclinq.com.

I have gone through your magnetic resonance imaging reports. Whatever images I have, I could not see anything significant in it. However, I would request you to please share the report of the radiologist. Also I want to know, how are you responding to medicine? Please follow up for further assistances. Thank you.

Preventive measures:

Use soft cervical collar and also, avoid jerky movement to the neck.
