Hi doctor,

I fell and hit the back of my head a week ago. Now it feels like I have sunburn. It is hard to lay my head on my pillow. It hurts to wash and brush my hair. What is going on? Please help.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

This is scalp contusion. That is an injury to the layers of tissue outside the skull bone. Similarly, the part of the brain inside the skull at the same site could also be injured. It would help if you underwent a clinical examination and radiological evaluation. Please consult a neurosurgeon at the earliest.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
