Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I was told that there is a 10 percent mild blockage in my heart that can be made to zero by medicine. Is it possible? How long I have to use medicine? And to clear any blockage is there any fruit juices or any remedy that can help? Doing daily exercise will be helpful to reduce blockage.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed your health query and want to add that it is all relative situation meaning that every patient has a different scenario. Some patients have no issues with cholesterol but some have a family history of raised cholesterol levels. Patients may also have a family history of heart and blood vessel disease. If we control the physical factors, it reduces the risk of heart diseases and blockage issues. Yes, exercise, as you mentioned, is very helpful in keeping the things in balance.

Your query about medicines to control the disease depends on what medications are we talking about. There may be a bunch of classes of medications in heart disease. Taking medications is mandatory in your case. If it does not lower the percentage of blockage, it will definitely be helpful in blocking any further derangement. Your cardiologist can discuss the issue better as he is having detailed medical history upfront.

Cholesterol can be maintained in normal limits and your cardiac health can be kept in check. Blood pressure medications also help in some patients who have the basic issue of high blood pressure. If someone has the blood vessel disease we can give medications to relieve the spasm of vessels and dilate the blood vessels. Sometimes we raise the blood flow to heart muscles and in this way the blockage to heart vessels is relieved.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
