Hematospermia

Blood in the semen resulting from infection or inflammation of the urethra, epididymis, vas deferens, prostate, and seminal vesicles is termed hematospermia. Other causes include trauma, medical procedures, tumors, polyps, reproductive tract obstruction, alteration in blood flow, hypertension, HIV, leukemia, etc. If it occurs after a diagnostic procedure, it regresses by itself. Other treatment modalities include treating the underlying condition along with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications.
