Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My ferritin levels are very high. It is 571. I am always feeling tired. Can you prescribe some medicines?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. According to your statement, you have recently done serum ferritin and your level is 571.30ng which is very high. Your cholesterol and triglyceride levels are also high.

Common causes of high ferritin levels are obesity, fatty liver, inflammation, COVID-19 infection, daily alcohol intake, hemochromatosis, etc. And high ferritin level makes you exhausted, fatigue.

For lowering your ferritin level, you can follow these steps:

1. Avoid iron and Vitamin C contained foods and fruits.

2. Reduce iron-rich foods.

3. Avoid uncooked fishes.

4. Avoid alcohol consumption.

Follow the above mentioned steps and do repeat serum ferritin level three months later.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Please prescribe some medicines to lower the ferritin levels.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can take tablet Ferriprox (Deferiprone) 500 mg 1-0-1 for two to three months.

Do repeat your serum ferritin level after taking your medication for two to three months.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
