Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My ferritin levels, BUN, rheumatoid factor, and typical lymphocyte count are high. Can they all be connected somehow? I have been sick for over a year or so.

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to the icliniq.com.

I went through your query.

According to your history, serum ferritin is high in anemia of chronic disease. Here chronic disease includes inflammation, chronic infection, and cancer. Vitamin B12 levels are usually high when B12 supplements are prescribed. But since you do not have such a history, other causes for high vitamin B12 need to be ruled out like chronic liver disease, chronic kidney disease, and myeloproliferative neoplasm.

BUN (blood urea nitrogen) is high, so the kidney seems to be affected.

Also, I suggest you investigate with a bone marrow biopsy or CT scan. I also suggest you consult a nearby hematologist for examination and discuss all these with him

Hope this will help you.

Take care.

Thanks and regards.
