Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My testosterone level is high. What could be the reason? Kindly review my reports.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I reviewed your reports (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). Your testosterone level is just above the normal level. The significant cause of high testosterone levels is an adrenal tumor or testicle tumor, which synthesis more testosterone levels. But in your case, it is just the upper level. So I suggest you to go for a repeat test after six weeks. If you have symptoms like an enlarged testicle, palpitation, or fatigue, kindly let me know; otherwise, there is nothing to worry about.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I have been taking Vitamin D3, Vitamin C, and Zinc. Also, I have been diagnosed with a slightly enlarged prostate. Can these medications increase my testosterone level?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If you are taking any exogenous hormonal therapy, they can increase prostate enlargement, but it does not increase testosterone level. Vitamin and zinc supplements have no significant impact on increasing testosterone levels. However, if your testosterone level increases by thousands, it can cause dyslipidemia.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
