How to cure the infection inside my eye and swelling outside the eye which has an artificial lens?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have an infection inside my eye and swelling from the outside. It has been eight days. There is little pain inside the eye. I am using Co-Dorzal eye drops, and Hylo 2 percent eye drops. The infected eye has a lens installed.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen the picture (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity), and it looks like an internal hordeolum. Please start on hot fomentation over the same eye at least thrice a day for one week. I suggest you consult a specialist and start the following medications with their consent. Tablet Amoxicillin twice a day for three days. Stop all the eye drops and start putting Moxifloxacin eye drops. It will get better in one or two weeks.
