Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a female, and I weigh 85 kilograms and weight five feet and five inches tall. Usually, my period flow is thick, deep red, and contains many thicker clots. I got my period in December, but one month later, I had intercourse, and after five days, I started to bleed. The bleeding was pinkish brown, having a curdy and slimy texture on the first day, gradually turning into bright red low flow with string-like clots.

So am I pregnant?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your history in detail and understand your concerns.

As per your description, these symptoms could be due to hormonal imbalance, but it could be due to pregnancy also (though the chances are very, very low).

But as you have this type of period, it could be an anovulatory cycle (due to hormonal changes) or due to pregnancy (if precum contains sperm). So it would be best if you went for a home urine pregnancy test after seven days of your missed period date or blood beta hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) testing to rule out pregnancy.

If pregnancy is not there, it could be due to hormonal imbalance, and you can wait and watch for your menses or take Progesterone for withdrawal bleeding.

Get your thyroid profile and hemoglobin test also for any hormonal changes.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
