Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I drank a good amount of water (five to six bottles), but I only urinated six or seven times. Three of those times, barely any urine came out. I woke up this morning with the urge to pee, and when I did, I still felt like I could have gone more. I went out this morning and rushed home because I needed to pee, but it was the same thing.
Since then, I have been urinating a very small amount, considering I drank a lot of water. Usually, when I drink that much, I would urinate a lot, but I do not know what is happening.
I recently drank another bottle of water, but I still do not feel like peeing. I am scared. I am not experiencing any pain; the only thing I feel is tightness around my bladder. Everything else is fine, and I can eat, drink, and work out. What could this be?
Please guide.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Usually, the amount of urine passed is not proportional to the water consumption. The body can absorb water from the urine in the kidneys. Hence, the amount of urine is monitored by the body using hormones.
Because of the urge and the pressure application, you are having the tightness. So, do not worry. Take an adequate amount of water and fluids to maintain the hydration of the body. I suggest a uroflowmetry to identify the flow.
I hope this has helped you. Please feel free to reach me again in case of further queries.
Thank you.
